Before beginning, you must confirm that email forwarding is off/removed. You can’t receive emails if there’s a forwarder in place.

Step 1: Log in to your Gmail account

Step 2: Once you are logged in, go to your ‘Settings’ by clicking on the cog in the upper right-hand corner. 

Step 3:  Click on the “Accounts” tab at the top

Step 4: Click On “Check mail from other accounts” in your Accounts section. Click “add a mail account”. Enter the email address you created for your domain and click “Next”.

Confirm the information below:

Username: yourname@yourdomainname.com

Password: Use the email account’s password.

Incoming Server: mail.yourdomainname.com

IMAP Port: 143

POP3 Port: 110

Step 5: Make sure the following boxes are checked off:

Step 6: Verify your account information with the on-screen message “Your account has been added.”

Step 7: Set up SMTP to send emails. Click on “Yes, I want to send mail as yourname@yourdomainname.com”.

Step 8: Verify your name as you would like it to appear when sending emails and check off the “treat as alias” box.

Step 9: On the Send mail through your SMTP server page input the following information:

Username: yourname@yourdomainname.com

Password: Use the email account’s password.

Outgoing Server: mail.yourdomainname.com

SMTP Port: 587

IMAP, POP3, and SMTP require authentication.

Step 10: Click “Add Account”.

Step 11: Gmail will send a verification email, click on the link to verify your new email address, or copy and paste the code into the text box and click ‘Verify’.

Step 12: You should be able to send and receive emails through your domain name now!
